To hopefully spark a love for the world around us within my students, so that they go out and explore and get out of their comfort zone and grow. Where I teach Earth & Space Science, I hope they find a connection to the world.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceIn 2022 & 2023 I took 21 students to Iceland. We climbed glaciers, and hiked the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. Seeing them experience what we talked about in my class in reality is an experience both I and them won’t forget.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would take my husband and I on an expedition to Antarctica so that I could bring back that real world connection within my high school classroom and hopefully evoke a sense of travel to my students as well.
