Originally, I didn’t particularly enjoy school, but I knew I wanted to pursue a career in a 'helping' field. I wanted to create an environment where learning is fun, inclusive, and compassionate. As an empathetic person, I always strive to see the best in everyone, and I wanted to use that to make a positive impact on students' lives and their learning experiences.

My most memorable teaching experience was my annual Starbooks Day, where students have a blast exploring different book genres. Their excitement and enthusiasm are infectious, and they can tell I’m having fun too. Another unforgettable moment was when I returned to my student teaching placement’s graduation picnic. The students didn’t know I was coming, and I was swarmed by 30 sixth graders in a huge group hug—it really showed me the impact I had on them."

I know it might sound boring, but I would use the $25,000 to either pay off my student loans, put it toward my graduate school tuition to continue my education, or save it for the future. I value financial security and personal growth, so this would help me focus on both my current goals and long-term plans. I would also use some of it to put towards materials and experiences for my students and my classroom.
