I had teachers that impacted my education in some way that I still keep in contact with them. Not only do they helped me but helped my family whether it was lending us the translated book for my mom to help with math or just reassure them that I am doing the best I can and still meet expectations.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

It would be this school year in the first few months while getting to know my students, most of them were newcomers that only spoke English. I know the impact of a good book can make students feel seen,I read Areli is a Dreamer and halfway through the book where the character travels to the new place with feeling alone with family being far.Everyone felt seen and understood that feeling because they have gone through the experience whether years ago or recently. Everyone quickly bonded after.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would pay off my debt that I had accumulated to pay for things I used in my classroom. Buy myself a new car since my car has been one I used since starting college and haven’t been able to buy myself something nice for me since starting teaching. The rest would be to save for a future vacation that I would do during spring or winter break.
