Georgia Wallace

The main reason that I love teaching is to be able to inspire young minds and to see them grow, there’s nothing like seeing a child grow .

Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I have always wanted to teach in an urban school setting and, due to life experiences, have worked in other fields. One day after 2020, I was contacted by my current school, and I had to close my business. I interviewed and have been teaching since. I love the students and seeing them grow and be happy.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching experiences was when my scholars had a visit from a local news team. Their excitement and vibrant personalities shone through as they proudly showcased what they had learned in Math and Reading. It was rewarding to see their hard work and practice pay off as they confidently demonstrated their skills.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I were to receive $25,000, I would host a well-deserved celebration for my students, pay off some major bills to free up income for my student loans, and pursue my Master’s degree to further my education and career.
