I became a teacher because for so long I denied the family business and recognized that what is important is creating safe, kind, helpful spaces for children to learn how to learn and create.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceBringing water colors into a 5th grade class with kids resistant to something new and having their eyes light up at as the colors brightened their paper - that moment, they recognized they were all artists.
What would you do with the $25,000?I’m an educator. I’d pay some bills. Maybe afford a small trip with my family. Donate some to youth arts scholarships.
