I love teaching because I feel like I make a difference every day. Even by offering a smile I can change someone’s feelings!

I became a teacher so that I could help students learn to read, write, do math, and gain knowledge independently My hope is that all of my students will become successful citizens in their community
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI have way too many wonderful teaching moments One that I’m super proud of is a 7th grader came to us without knowing how to read. Immediately I started working with the student daily. Within a couple of weeks, he was able to read many words. The best thing about it was seeing his confidence soar!
What would you do with the $25,000?I would use the $25000 to buy more hands on learning tools for reading. Manipulatives are popular for math but rarely used for reading!! Daily I would love to offer a computer program for more independent skills while I teach a different small group. There are lots of reading programs on the computer but most of them are super expensive. I would purchase a reading program especially for the visual learners, as well as the English language students
