The ability to teach children to read and write is a phenomenon feeling and accomplishment. You become one of my kids, forever and always.

I’ve always wanted to be a teacher, a kindergarten teacher. That age is my favorite because children are so innocent yet they are like sponges. I love being able to take a clean slate at the beginning of each year and then to watch the growth as the year progresses. Watching the learning happen right in front of you is amazing. Helping them reach their full potential is a fantastic thing to be a part of.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI had a little girl, many years ago, that had never been in school before she came to kindergarten. She was one tough cookie. Anything I asked her do, she did the opposite. She was a moody little thing and a complete blank slate. She didn’t know one letter, couldn’t identify one number and could not write her name. Everyday I’d work with her, praise her and help her. When she finally learned to read that year, her eyes sparkled. She smiled and I knew she was well on her way.
What would you do with the $25,000?I’d pay off a few bills, put a little in the bank and buy myself something pretty!
