I thought I could bring an element of old school values, while working on teaching empathy and concern for others. As a former interpreter, I started an American Sign Language Club to teach differences in others. It’s very useful at our little school!
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceWatching a kindergartner begin the ASL club because he recently diagnosed with hearing loss, and having a difficult student apologize for being a problem child during class—to become one of my better art students!
What would you do with the $25,000?If I were fortunate enough to win the $25,000, part would go to my art room. Being a small, rural school, cuts run deep in the budget department. We need various supplies for everyday usage. The other part would be to pay some of my student loan debt.
