Tell us why you became a teacher

I was inspired by my Kindergarten teacher. I enjoy making learning a fun experience and kick starting education in a positive way. A positive role model can make all the difference in a child's life. Creating and fostering a love of learning is an important step in creating a productive, strong community. Kids are the future and they need modeling and guidance to achieve great things. Seeing a student understand something is the most magical feeling.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experiences are when former students come back to visit and share their accomplishments with me. I've taught for 24 years, I've had multiple generations of families come through my classroom. Lots of siblings and it's so fulfilling to hear of their achievements and talk to the families. I also love our Lego Nights that our Kindergarten Team has facilitated for our school the last 3 years.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would love to remodel my kitchen. I've had plans to do so for a while but costs keep rising. Cooking is something I love to do to for my family.
