I was inspired by my mom who was a teacher for 36 years. I had many wonderful teachers growing up that made school a fun and enjoyable place. At a very young age I knew I wanted to be a teacher. I struggled in school with math and once I mastered those skills I felt like I could help others find a way to succeed. I wanted to make a positive impact and share my love of learning. Teaching is the ultimate way to help society by contributing in so many different ways to the next generation.

As educators, our instinct is to safeguard kids from pain, yet in sharing our vulnerabilities, we can empower them to become beacons of hope and kindness. Last year, in March, I experienced a devastating loss when my father passed away. Upon my return, a 5th-grade student approached me with a gift, a bracelet in a mesh bag. Assuming it was a spring break keepsake, I was taken aback when I found a picture of my dad and me inside, a powerful reminder of how students can impact our own lives.

What a thrilling prospect! Investing in our classrooms with new materials would be a fantastic start. I'd also love to contribute to our PTC scholarship program, empowering future generations. On a personal note, I'd set aside funds to support my sons' educational journeys, lessening their burden of debt and helping to unlock their full potential.
