I love to be a child’s safe place. The place he/she knows that they are can come to and be loved and cared for. It’s all I’ve ever wanted.

I became a teacher to make a difference in the lives of students and help them to be the best version of themselves. Seeing students gain confidence and ownership of their own learning is truly a magical feeling. I became a teacher because I have always had the desire to make a difference. Being able to be to celebrate their and watch students grow is truly why I love to teach.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceThere was a young girl in my class, who was very quiet, and lacked confidence. She’d sit in the back, never really engaging, until one day, we were discussing a creative writing assignment, and I noticed she had written something incredibly heartfelt—a story about her struggles with fitting in. It was vulnerable, a side of her I hadn’t seen before. That moment reminded me that teaching is not just about academic growth, but emotional growth as well and we can always be their safe place to grow.
What would you do with the $25,000?It would be a dream to win this money. I would pay some of my school loans off and take a little bit of weight off my shoulders. It is always hard when you have payments and debt so the 25k would help tremendously.
