My favorite thing of being a teacher is watching my students become independent learners, watching them gain confidence in themselves!

Learn MoreI grew up in a family of teacher, listening to my mother and grandparents talk about the struggles their students had and watching the impact they made in children's life inspired me to go into the classroom. I quickly understood the importance of creating that classroom family and learned that there is nothing more rewarding that being that safe space for kids where they can be themselves and reach their full potential.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI have been teaching our youngest learners for 14 years in prek or kindergarten and there is nothing I love more than watching a student go through a productive struggle and walk away triumphant. One of my favorites is when students start blending words and they get that smile on their face when they can make out a word.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would love to create a coat and shoe bank for my students so they can come and go from school nice and warm! And put the rest towards buying my first home.
