I love teaching because I get a chance to help students grow, and I get to build great relationships with some amazing kids!

Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because when I was in school I saw my friends not getting the support in their education as they should've. I also knew of the struggles my dad had faced in his time in school. I wanted to do things differently and hopefully make a difference. Your time in school effects the rest of your life in so many ways. I hope everyday as a teacher I am helping the students go on to have successful lives!

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

I had a student who really struggled with controlling his emotions which lead him to really struggle in school. I had him for two years trying to help him. I have now seen how much better he is doing many years later, and it makes me smile knowing I might've helped in that journey.

What would you do with the $25,000?

Being a teacher puts a strain on finances, so first I would pay off some things. Then I would save some for a need that arises. I would also purchase some things to help me in the classroom. I would plan a trip to expand my world view.
