I became a teacher because I have personally experienced how a positive teacher and a negative teacher can really change a student's life. There is a lot more that goes on in a child's life than school, and having both the positive and negative experiences made me realize I wanted to the be the positive, even if it was just for one student.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceAs a teacher there have been so many memorable moments but when I look at what has been the most impactful for me, it was the very first lightbulb moment I saw on a classroom full of children's faces. When they understood a difficult concept and it clicked and it was no longer a puzzle, but something that made total sense to them.
What would you do with the $25,000?There are endless things I can think of that I can do with that much money. I think of myself as a practical person so the realistic answer is pay off my medical bills and pay off my car. The remaining may be saved for a future down payment on a house, or any other bills that need attention.
