I love molding my kindergarteners into independent thinkers. I love seeing them use the strategies that I teach them as they learn to read

Tell us why you became a teacher

You know when they say that teaching is a calling? Well, I was running away from that calling. I come from a long line of educators so it was bound to happen. From being a camp counselor as a teenager, I knew this would be my destiny

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching moment would be when I came up with "The Gluestick Pledge" my 3rd year teaching kindergarten. What was an impromptu lesson, turned into a revolution. I had another one recently. 4 of my students are being tested for gifted!

What would you do with the $25,000?

I have some credit card debt that I would like to pay off and I would like to get some real deal organizing supplies for my classroom. I also want to help my brother pay off his student loans.
