Teaching is my second career after working as an engineer. I chose to become a teacher because I believe in the transformative power of education. I saw a need and I wanted to be a change agent within our education system. I want my students to develop into innovative thinkers who can address real-world problems with creativity and ingenuity. I aim to empower then to use tools and equipment while fostering a collaborative spirit among classmates.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceDuring our program promotion and outreach events, where I am overwhelmed by the enthusiasm of my students who share their experiences to inspire other students about the fun challenges and opportunities our engineering pathway has to offer. They come in numbers to pass on their skills and passion for engineering to younger students. Each time I leave these events my heart is filled with gratitude and joy, I am truly blessed.
What would you do with the $25,000?If I were to win this contest, I would love to use the prize to further my education to enhance my skills and knowledge to better serve my students and community. But I will have to first get home and car repairs. In conclusion, my love for teaching is driven by the desire to inspire, innovate and make a meaningful impact on the lives of my students.
