Tell us why you became a teacher

I became an elementary PE teacher because I’m passionate about fostering healthy lifestyles and creating a positive, fun environment for kids. Physical education is a way to not only teach important skills but also build self-confidence, teamwork, and resilience. I love helping children develop a lifelong love of movement and fitness while encouraging them to stay active and engaged. Being part of their growth and making a lasting impact on their well-being is incredibly rewarding to me.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable experiences was when one of my special needs students who had always struggled with physical activities, finally succeeded in helping his team win our hula hoop bowling game! It was such a big moment of success for them & seeing his face light up with pride was priceless. The whole class was cheering for him & it highlighted the power of encouragement and support. Creating a positive and inclusive environment where ALL students feel capable is so important to me!

What would you do with the $25,000?

With $25,000, I’d focus on a few important areas! First, I’d use it to pursue my master’s degree and invest in courses and certifications to expand my career opportunities in education. I’d also set aside some of the money for my retirement fund to secure my future. Finally, I’d love to travel more during my time off. Putting some money towards a plane ticket for a dream vacation would help me create unforgettable memories that I’d cherish for years!
