To become the teacher, I had in school that empowered me to achieve more. What started as an unexpected journey blossomed into a calling to shape lives, spark passions, empower the next generation and build futures. Each day, I’m driven by the joy of helping students discover their potential, overcome challenges, and embrace their unique paths. Teaching isn’t just a career, but became my purpose, a chance to leave a lasting impact and uplift others to achieve greatness.

An unforgettable moment this school year was when a few seniors shared their acceptance letters into the Hospitality Program at UNLV. Seeing their dedication turn into reality was beyond rewarding. Even if just a tiny part in their choice of major and future career affirmed that I am making an impact as a teacher. Their excitement and gratitude reminded me that teaching is about shaping futures and inspiring success. Moments like this reaffirm my purpose and passion for making a lasting impact.

While I’ve worked hard and our school has been a great resource for supplies, but a lot still falls on our shoulders. Many expenses come out of pocket, and I’m not even living paycheck to paycheck, exhausting struggle to catch up. This funding would be more than a lifeline; it would be hope in a situation that often feels hopeless. It would let me focus on my students and, for once, take care of myself without the reality of stress or the shame of not having enough to make it through the week.
