Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I believe that ALL students have the ability and capability to learn. Although some students’ pacing are quicker than others, they all still have the ability and capabilities of learning. I was once the student whose pacing was not as quick as others, but I did not give up. I am now known as DR JONES.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience was bringing my scholars with IEPs on GRADE LEVEL with my general education group in Math. Their data moved almost five grade levels, from Kindergarten level to rising sixth grade.

What would you do with the $25,000?

Plan an ALL EXPENSES PAID field trip for the 60 students we have in sixth grade; then, create a scholarship for the Sixth Grade Academy, which would give a $500 payment to a graduating recipient and their family from GTW until the funds have depleted. This is a Title 1 school, so I know that it would help their families greatly.
