I became a teacher because I had amazing teachers in my life growing up. I've always looked up to teachers. We are listeners. We are empathetic. We care and nurture but we also set expectations for our students. I feel like teachers play an important role in every career and help set the stage for students to find their niche. Learning did not come easy for me. I always felt like I had to study more than my peers, but I feel like that helps me be more compassionate with my students that struggle

One of my former 4th grade students came back as my intern and has since become a teacher herself. I recently had a former 4th grade student of mine reach out to me through facebook. He was a challenging student and knows it. He told me I made a difference in his life and always had high expectations of him and he became a small business owner and wanted to give back. He asked to donate money for needy students on their lunch account. I've also had several second generation students in my class.

I would like to purchase a new home and would put the money down on a house. I've been teaching 35 years and would love to take a little time to travel also. My dream destination is Paris. A trip to Hawaii would be wonderful too!
