Tell us why you became a teacher

I struggled in school, but with the support of great mentors, I overcame challenges. Now, working at New Hyde Park Memorial, my dream is to give back as a school counselor. Counselors shape students' academic and personal growth, just like teachers and coaches. As a football and girls’ lacrosse coach over the year's, I’ve seen the power of mentorship firsthand. My goal is to guide students, help them believe in themselves, and be the support system they need to succeed in school and life.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

I don’t have one specific memory as an educator because every day is a dream and a gift. Each day brings new moments of connection, growth, and impact, making every day my greatest day in school. Whether coaching on the field or guiding students in the classroom, I cherish every opportunity to support and inspire. The relationships I build and the lives I touch make this journey unforgettable, and that’s what makes every single day so meaningful.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I win the $25,000, I will create a senior scholarship committee to award three $1,000 scholarships each year, helping students pursue their dreams. I’ll also use funds to enhance our mindfulness room, providing a calm space for students to recharge. This initiative supports both academic success and mental well-being, creating a lasting impact. My goal is to invest in students’ futures while ensuring they feel supported in the present, making our school a stronger, more caring community.
