Diane Brown

I know this going to sound cliche but I became a teacher to make a difference in a child's life and let them know I truly believed in them.

Tell us why you became a teacher

When I was younger, I was diagnosed with Leukemia. Because of the the treatments I received, I was also diagnosed as severely learning disabled. I struggled all through school and it wasn't until middle school that I got the support I needed to be successful. The teachers I had believed in me and allowed me to strive to my fullest potential. That's why I became a teacher.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

Any student who comes into my room is a special memory. I love watching my students make gains in their learning. I want them to be able to overcome any obstacle them comes their way.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would love to give back to my school and support an organization that could help in literacy or math support.
