Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I was blessed to have teachers that really inspired me and motivated me as a child and I wanted to be able to do the same for students. It’s my way of paying it forward.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching moments occurred with a student I had taught in both 3rd and 4th grade. In 3rd grade, this student struggled significantly with multiplication facts, often needing assistance and feeling frustrated. However, by the time they reached 4th grade, I witnessed a remarkable transformation. During a math session, this student confidently recalled multiplication facts without any help. The joy and pride on their face were indescribable.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I had $25,000, I'd put it towards finally getting my own home, something I've been dreaming of for a while now. It would mean the world to me. And I would put the rest in my savings account.
