As a child, I was reserved, yet learning gave me confidence and a sense of purpose. The thrill of discovering new knowledge ignited a passion I longed to share. Guiding students through complex ideas and witnessing their “aha” moments brings me immense fulfillment. Teaching allows me to inspire and empower, fostering a love for learning that extends beyond the classroom. It is a privilege to spark curiosity and guide others on their journey of intellectual and personal growth.

With 28 years of teaching experience, one of my most memorable moments was when a student, once considered academically challenged, began to excel in my class. Witnessing their growth as they mastered complex concepts was deeply fulfilling. The gratitude expressed by a student, others deemed difficult, was especially rewarding. Hearing his heartfelt thank you for helping him push through obstacles truly warmed my heart and reminded me of the profound impact I can have on my students.

If I were fortunate enough to receive the $25,000, I would be incredibly grateful. I would donate a portion to my school to support programs that encourage students to pursue STEM related fields. Additionally, I’d use some to pay off bills, easing financial stress. Lastly, I would save part of it for future opportunities and invest in resources to help me contribute to my community. I’m thankful for this opportunity!
