Learn MoreFunny enough that was never my goal. In fact I was a paraprofessional and truly enjoyed helping students in subjects I struggled with too. Seeing their progress pushed me to become a teacher. Plus, having CTEs allowed me to be creative with the content. Now, I see the potential these students have and I want to help them see their abilities/powers.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI had a certain student whom I struggled with to do their assignments and showing up to class. However as we began to create our mouse trap cars with batteries. I saw the spark in their eyes in which that same student bought into the LAB and got their best grade that quarter.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would like to help out the school with anything. Specifically with the science department and to help scaffold our content. The goal for me is to be more hands on. That’s what science is all about. I want our students to buy in. I want to see that spark and I want to give them the opportunity to do so.
