I became a teacher because I wanted to make a difference in the world. I was in a corporate America job and felt unfulfilled. The opportunity came for me to make a change and I volunteer at my daughter school and fell in love the amount of opportunities to pour in and love this next generation I believe it’s imperative to shape the minds early to set the foundation for the rest of their lives. I believe that this is what I was put on this earth to do.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience was seeing the transformation in a child that had some social emotional challenges. After months of patiently loving them through their tantrums, teaching them how to regulate themselves, and how to use their words to interact with their peers and teachers, I saw the fruit of everything that was poured into them. As a result they created a love to learn with their friends.

What would you do with the $25,000?

Ultimately, winning this $25,000 would offer me the chance to ease my financial burdens, tap into a more creative and present version of myself. Also I would invest directly into the education of my students and the betterment of my school. It’s not just a windfall for me—it’s an opportunity to uplift my students, support my school, and continue doing the work I’m passionate about with a refreshed spirit and a greater sense of purpose.
