I love teaching for many reasons including witnessing the growth of our children, the challenges and successes, and overcoming hurdles.

Learn MoreI became a teacher because of inspiration from my high school Spanish teacher. She was so admirable, an amazing teacher, and an activist. She lit a fire in me to become an amazing teacher as well. From high school I went to the University of Washington and got my ba in Spanish and Latin American studies with the intend to be a high school Spanish teacher. Once I had kids of my own, I decided to teach younger children.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable teaching moment is when one of my ml students who arrived to first grade with no English was able to understand an entire math lesson without any translation from me. I could tell that he was struggling and frustrated and wanted to understand on his own so much. Once he was able to grasp the language, I could see a light bulb develop over his head and a big smile on his face. This moment is forever in my mind!
What would you do with the $25,000?I would use $25,000 for a down payment on my first forever home (condo) near to where daughters will attend middle school.
