i became a teacher because I was inspired by great teachers to love reading, writing and performance. I was also heavily bullied in middle school and an amazing teacher saved my life and helped me overcome it.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable teaching experience was outside of the classroom at the 2011 Relay for Life Cancer Walk. I had won Teacher of the Year in my district and over 100 students joined me at my wedding & to raise money and awareness for the American Cancer Society. Many of my students have gone on to participate in later Relays either in college or as adults.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would pay off my credit card bill (which pays for most of the resources and decor in my classroom to ensure it is an inviting place.) I would invest in bookcases and magnetic walls in my classroom, and the rest I would put away for retirement (in about 50 years!)
