I love teaching middle schoolers because they make me laugh every day! I want to help them be good humans!

I became a teacher because I enjoy helping students find fun in learning Science. I look forward to going to school every day because there is always something new happening. I love seeing my students finally understand a difficult concept or help a peer with their learning. I became a teacher because I want to make a difference in my students’ lives. Many children live very difficult lives in our society. I hope I can be a positive influence and a trusted adult to my students.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI am in my 4th year of teaching and my most memorable teaching experience so far has been the excitement on my students’ faces when they get to make models of things we are studying with Playdoh! Even 8th graders love Playdoh and creativity.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would use the $25,000 to purchase supplies for my classroom, like Playdoh, glue sticks, whiteboards, and pencils. I would also like to bring our museum’s mobile planetarium to my school for all the students to enjoy an in-house field trip! I would love to get a life-like human skeleton for my classroom that also has organs and vessels to give my elective students a physical model. Finally, I would like to purchase supplies for our 3D printers so I can do more with those in my classes.
