Tell us why you became a teacher

I struggled in school, and I never wanted a student to feel that way. I became a teacher to reach every kid, no matter their learning style, and help them grow. Every student deserves to feel capable and supported. By creating engaging lessons, fostering curiosity, and adapting to different needs, I strive to make learning accessible and meaningful. My goal is to build confidence, critical thinking, and a love of learning in every student I teach.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching moments come from project-based learning, where students engage deeply and build meaningful connections. The best part is when they return years later, sharing how much they loved the project—not just for the learning but for the relationships we built. Seeing the lasting impact of those experiences reminds me why I teach: to inspire, connect, and create a classroom where every student feels valued and excited to learn.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With $25,000, I would transform my classroom with more Harry Potter-themed decor to enhance engagement and create a magical learning environment. I would also update my science materials to provide more hands-on experiences for students. Additionally, I’d explore developing more STEAM scholarships to support my students' futures, ensuring they have opportunities to pursue their passions in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math.
