I became a teacher because I want to influence the next generation of students as my teachers have done for me. Knowledge is the power of the future!

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

In my 12 years, I have had numerous moments that have made my job more memorable. I have two memorable ones. Taking our band to Austin to perform at the UIL State Wind Ensemble Festival. The sounds and beauty those students made were incredible. My next was when I was in Caldwell, and we were running a marching contest, and we were the exhibition band. When I rounded the corner, the band was already in full uniform and warming up. I had tears in my eyes because the kids did it all on their own.

What would you do with the $25,000?

There are many things I would try to do with $25,000. First, I will set some aside for our daughter for college, then take my family on vacation somewhere.
