Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I fell in love with teaching young children language foundational skills. As they developed and progressed, I felt a feeling like no other that called me to become a Teacher and share my skill with children around the Columbus, Ohio area.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

I have many memorable experiences, I love to teach environmental science and conduct experiments in the classroom. When multiple students came to me with personal connections to our Unit, it made my heart smile because I knew they’d learned something they’ll apply and share with others.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use this reward to start a community recreation center connected to the school I work for(Par Excellence STEM Academy)The students I serve live in Newark, OH where physical, intellectual mentality , and social experiences are limited to our youth , especially in the cold months. I’d like to start a non-profit indoor/outdoor organization to help students in Newark,OH develop social-emotional skills through physical or cognitive activity.
