Tell us why you became a teacher

It must be in the water. I guess you could say it's the family business as my mother and sister are also teachers. To be honest it was plan B after struggling in the work world and as such decided to share the experience with students. I believe in public education and its ability to better society. Those who value the future and what it holds also should value education as neither exists without the other.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

Kody with a K. Student was somewhat lost in choosing direction and through our relationship, work and guidance the path became clear. Again, there are many teachable moments or experiences but truely it's the relationships that become memorable. It really is seeing the students grow, change and be who they are meant to be.

What would you do with the $25,000?

To be honest it would probably go towards debt, bills or mortgage as these things always seem to pile up as our salaries are so behind the cost of living right now. Maybe towards a nice vacation to Italy where I can cook from fresh foods and enjoy some nice wine.
