Tell us why you became a teacher

I honestly don’t remember exactly why I chose to become a teacher. I suppose it was something I always knew I wanted to do.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

When I think back to all of my memories one theme stands out. Building a community and a family within my classroom is something I’ll always take with me. For example, one night I was put to dinner and a man came up to me and called me by my maiden name. He had been my student over 20 years prior and of course I didn’t recall who he was immediately but he remembered me and talked about our “family” (his second grade class ) and that meant so much that after all of these years he remembered.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With $25000 I would use part of it to pay of bills and the other part I would use to travel. My dream is to travel to many places around the world and learn new cultures
