I love teaching because I enjoy providing a safe and loving environment where students can reach their full potential and be themselves.

I became a teacher to make a difference in the lives of kids. When I was a kid I had amazing teachers all throughout elementary school who were encouraging, understanding and supportive. They created a safe place for students to be themselves and feel welcome. I want to do the same for other children.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable experience is with a student I had in fourth grade. He was struggling in all subjects but more so in ELA. I connected with him and worked with him all year on reading and writing and because I showed him I cared and encouraged him and supported him he is now thriving as a 7th grader. He even wants to become a teacher because of me.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would use the $25,000 towards a vacation with my family. I work so hard during the school year, and my family sometimes gets set aside. I would like to be able to treat my family to a nice vacation to show how much I appreciate their love and support and to be able to make memories with them.
