Tell us why you became a teacher

Scholars deserve teachers who feel like family, but are not. Teachers that they can trust and count on to help them get be successful. I became a teacher because I asked God for my purpose one day as a kid and he said to help others. Then I asked again as an adult and He said to help the children. And that is what I intend to do. Ensure every child I meet knows how amazing, loved, and cherished they are.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

I started here as a TIR... teacher in residence. And I've now become a lead teacher. I love that I create new memories every day and nicknames for the students. Most memorable would be our field trip to Skyzone and we were able to enjoy time outside of school with my scholars. We were able to actually bond and have fun.

What would you do with the $25,000?

Have a party for my students. Pay some school debt from my undergrad. And get a new apt.... my landlord is a slum lord and I'm afraid of being homeless any day now.
