Teaching students how to become better people and problem solvers through theatre has given me more life than I ever thought possible.

Register NowI believe that the arts are more important than most schools understand. Theatre is especially important because it teaches a comunication skills and builds a confidence that is often overlooked. Theater also allows the students to learn about the human condition and have compassion for each other. I would never underestimate the value of problem solving when building sets either!
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI had a student who was struggling with their personal life. I had no clue, as they were amazing in my class and my program. The other teachers all had issues with this student. As they grew in my program, the other teachers saw a difference and so did the students parents. The student graduated and told me they not only wouldn't have done so without me and the program, but they were close to suicide when they joined the class and it turned them around.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would love to use the money to move closer to my job as the 15-hour days are killing me on top of my commute. It would be nice to take a trip with my wife, as she works hard as well, and I rarely get to spend time with her during the school year. She is also in education and has a back problem that would be great if I could help her get it fixed.
