I love to learn and want to share that with children. It seems so sad when adults forget to be curious about the world and I hope part of that stays with my students.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceThe first time I messed up a math problem in front of a second grade class felt both terrible and amazing. At first, I immediately owned the mistake. Then I discovered that students love when teachers can make mistakes. It became my thing. Make a mistake to see if the students catch it, which then showed me if they were grasping the lessons.
What would you do with the $25,000?It is sad to say that it would not go toward my students loans as that would just cover current interest. I would love to set up a small college fund for kids to give them a little relief from the stress of college. I would also pay off what's left on my car loan.
