I have always known that music changes the world. It is a universal language that people all over can agree, carries people through hard times and happy times. It brings joy and eases sadness and I have always known I wanted to instill the love and appreciation for music in others.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceFor me as a choral director, my most memorable experience was the very first full group rehearsal after Covid had destroyed music programs all over the world. We couldn’t sing inside at all during Covid and there was no music being made. In this profession, it was devastating to not be able to teach choirs and when we all finally came back together to sing again, there were so many tears. We all realized how beautiful it sounded and how much we missed it!
What would you do with the $25,000?$25,000 would change my life! As we are trying to pay off a ton of debt, we are planning a wedding for our daughter who is also a teacher. Our son is also finishing a degree in Music Education (like both of his parents!) and we would love to help set him up in his own place. I would also pay off both of their college loans. Teachers shouldn’t have to start their careers in debt!
