Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because it was in my blood. I have been tutoring children since I was in elementary school. I became a teachers assistant and decided to became an early childhood teacher to start the foundation for life long learning . Giving students an exciting beginning helps them to love learning forever

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching experiences is when I taught a girl who was withdrawn to read. She was a runner , a screamer and talked like a baby. So I loved her, brought her new clothes and shoes, made sure she smelled good and her hair was done and spent time getting to know her. I fed her and as she started to get to know me she opened up. She started to flourish and thrive. She caught up with her peers and one morning she came in , put the sounds together and read her 1st word.

What would you do with the $25,000?

Of course I would put some of that back in my classroom. I would further my training and education In special education and autism and I would make sure my daughters have educational opportunities they do not presently have. I would also treat myself to a spa day because mental health is important
