Tell us why you became a teacher

I’m became a teacher to help child who struggle with learning disabilities like me realize their potential and help them find the right tools to be successful. I also had two very important young ladies in my life who taught me so much about myself by just being them and have changed my life forever.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

I had a student who struggled greatly in math and never got above a c but as several weeks of work and talking with this young man he came running into my classroom with a 95% on a math test that he was sure he was going to fail. I got the biggest hug and the sweetest message from that mom later that day.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would spend the money on items in my classroom and school to help those who have learning disabilities and/or sensory issues have a space (sensory room) they can go to help regulate and calm down.
