Tell us why you became a teacher

I had always dreamed of being a teacher and that was actually one of my goals growing up as a kid. It was because of my mentors and teachers growing up that i saw what it was to be a positive and encouraging role model. Thus the reason why i wanted to do the same. I became a teacher because of them, to lead, educate, and inspire our future generations! To be a role model everyday and to show them what it takes to make it in this world!

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience would be when I was able to share my passion for the sport of hockey with my PE classes. I teach at an inner city school in Georgia where hockey is not well known. These kids got to experience something new for the first time, something that would broaden their horizon and show them there is more to this world then what is in their bubble of everyday life. It was a proud moment and the kids were left wanting more of the hockey unit, which was amazing.

What would you do with the $25,000?

My wife and I, along with our two kids have been living in a 2 bedroom house for about 4 years now. While we are grateful for what we have, we have been doing everything to try and buy a house. In this day and age money is always tight and this money would allow us to find our first ever home that we are working so hard to get. My wife and kids deserve the world and that is what i would do with the money!
