As I matured I saw that the only way I could change my future was to lock in and get an education. I have changed my whole life and now I am starting a new legacy as a teacher and a proud Latino-American. I bring to my class all the lived in wisdom as a boy from the hood and the compassion and understanding of one who struggled. Plus a genuine LOVE of all things history but especially US
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI have many. Hearing from graduated students that what I taught them helped them become a better involved person in the country. Students who told me how it meant the world to them that I was their first ever Latino teacher.
What would you do with the $25,000?Build another room in my house. I have 2 kids and I need more room for them. Maybe spend a little of it on the Hawaii vacation.
