Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher to inspire the next generation of land stewards. I teach agriculture arts and much of what I bring connects children back to the Earth and nature. My hope is that with the many hands on activities from caring for animals to sowing seeds the students can find the love to protect our environment. I teach at a Waldorf inspired school so we teach holistically, not just grade centered education but whole human being development.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable moment was taking my students on a biking trip on a trail that went along the Susquehanna River. We foraged for mushrooms, painted with berries, had snack together by the river, found Abby snapping turtles and sang a song together to the river. It was a magical day.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would put a down payment on land and a tiny home that would be completely sustainable and off grid. Solar powered with a full permaculture garden.
