I love empowering children to become confident, kind, independent learners. I love how much I continually learn about what matters from them

I knew I wanted to become a teacher shortly after starting fourth grade with Miss Tucci. My first impression of her as my teacher sparked an interest in me to become a teacher. The impact she had throughout that year on me helped keep that spark alive and still strong to this day, 44 years later. It was how she made me feel as an individual, not just as a student, that intrigued me to strive to do the same for others.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable teaching experience happened one of my first years of teaching. A little boy named Danny appear on my class list. Danny had been diagnosed with a rare, deadly blood disorder that had already begun to affect his physical mobility and would affect his mental abilities over time. What made this experience so memorable was the impact he had on me and what he taught me , or reminded me, about resilience, hard work and a positive attitude. He made me a better person and educator.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would use part of the money to pursue my “ life after teaching” dream of becoming a parent coach. The other money I would save or invest for my retirement.
