I am a hard-working masters level teacher at an urban area alternative school. I absolutely love what I do.

I’ve wanted to be a teacher since I was a littler girl. My siblings and I always played school when we were children and of course I always had to be the teacher. I love to teach people new things and I love to see them use what they’ve learned from me in their everyday lives. Teaching brings me so much joy and I’m glad to be a teacher in today’s society.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable teaching experience comes from my current school year. I work at an alternative school teaching kindergarten and first grade. Many of my students face social and economic disparities. Learning is not always the first priority for my students at home. I recently started teaching both grades how to read. We have been focusing on letter sounds since the beginning of the year, and I wanted to push them further. Out of 12 students eight of them are actually reading.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would buy the elementary program at my current school a reading curriculum and an interactive learning and play Beam by Eyeclick device.
