Learn MoreWhy do I teach? I knew all the way back in elementary school that I was going to go into the teaching profession due to the fantastic teachers that built my passion for teaching. I realized the importance of being a male teaching at the elementary level, providing a positive male influence, on the boys that don't have that in their own life. Eventually, I saw the same need at the high school level and moved to meet that need.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMemorable teaching moment- I am lucky enough to have begun my teaching career in the same county I grew up in and graduated from. This provided me the opportunity to teach the children of peers I have known since elementary and folks I graduated with. I have now, in my 25th year, taught the children of my former students. Having "Meet and Greet" and parent conferences with parents you have taught is an amazing experience!
What would you do with the $25,000?As a spouse of a teacher and parent to 3 kiddos (8, 10, and 13 years old) we greatly value our summertime, together. I would like the opportunity to provide a memorable summer off learning and bonding experience exploring America's Atlantic Coast!
