I love being a part of helping teenagers be equipped with foundational knowledge to “adult” in the real world.

Both my parents involved me in their everyday lives and helped me acquire a variety of life skills along the way. Their “classroom” was wherever they were at the time, believing we learn wherever we go. I’ve always enjoyed guiding others on their own journey, helping them to discover their own path, and offering assistance along the way. Teaching business and computer classes has given me a plethora of opportunities to help students to learn skills to apply to life.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI’m fortunate to experience new memorable experiences each day of teaching. My personality type is more fact-based than creative and I’m in awe to watch students take a basic framework I’ve provided and apply their imagination to a project with flair and originality or to watch a student’s face light up when they’ve discovered a new concept of how something works.
What would you do with the $25,000?The funds would go toward expenses of helping those less fortunate to process and better understand their healthcare. I would provide my business education knowledge, experience and skills to offer free services to people having difficulty and frustrations with insurance and healthcare coverage, helping to guide them through the process. This way I can extend my teaching into the community to empower more individuals with knowledge and encourage them to teach others.
