“Mr. Lauman, did you know George Washington D.C. put his face on the one dollar bill and then printed billions of them?” Me “Let’s discuss”

I became a teacher as a second career option. It had always been my back-up plan. Wow, what a plan it became! It has been the most intrinsically rewarding “job” I’ve ever had. I get smiles, hugs and high fives daily!
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceEarly in my ten years of teaching, I had a second grader with Down’s Syndrome. She was a little spitfire with a huge personality! She’d grab my hand and pull me around the school because I walked too slowly for her. Everyone knew her. Everyone loved her. To this day I repeat her favorite reaction to everything which was “ Oh my goodness.”
What would you do with the $25,000?I would find five families who are living paycheck to paycheck, who are struggling to make it, or who’ve had a recent setback like a fire, a broken down car, or the loss of a family member and give them each $5,000 to help them thru these tough times, to fix something for them.
