I love teaching because you can make learning fun and help students become confident in their abilities. You can make a difference in lives
Thank you for supporting Billie Jo Crabtree in this year's competition. Your donations and participation will benefit The Planetary Society in their mission to advance space exploration, inspire discovery, and empower the next generation of innovators.
I became a teacher because I wanted to make a difference in the lives of students that I thought. I wanted to help them to learn how to relate what they are learning to everyday life and make it meaningful where they want to learn even more and how it relates to them. I wanted to make learning fun.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceThe look on a students face when it finally all comes together and makes sense on what they are doing and how it relates to things around them. I also had a remember talking to one of my first year students several years later and they said we knew when to behave and when to cut up ..they said we knew when to settle down by your nostrils flaring. I always told them to have fun and learn and a time and place for things.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would pay some debt off and help my son, daughter in-law and granddaughter with a down payment on a house or help all of us to go Ireland or Scotland together.
